Zaid Communications founder and president Sonia V. Diaz is a six-time award-winning public relations executive with over 15 years’ experience in communications and a proven track record of developing media strategies that secure top tier coverage at the regional, national, and global level in general market, Spanish-language and Black media.
Born in Houston, Texas, Sonia is a fully bilingual Dominican-American with Spanish-language skills that are tailored to and fluent in addressing cultural relevance in diverse communities.
She has vast experience in crisis mitigation and crisis management in the public, private and non-profit sector, dealing with a wide range of issues including environmental and natural disasters, social media cancel culture, reputation management, corporate board dissolutions, and public health responses.
She currently serves as the president of the Hispanic Public Relations Association and is a proven industry leader with an unwavering commitment to developing diverse talent and expanding the footprint and earning power of BIPOC and women in the field of communications.
For her work and achievements, the Texas State University College of Liberal Arts awarded her with the Distinguished Alumni Rising Star Award in 2017 and in 2018 she was named one of South Florida's Most Influential Women in Business by the South Florida Business Journal.
